Northfield NFB-F5AWN, Big Mon, Adirondack Spruce, Maple, Wide Nut - NEW - SOLD

(NEW) One of the instruments we always look forward to on our Northfield orders is the fabled Big Mon.  This F-Style mandolin has slightly increased proportions (5mm wider at its widest point) which results in not only more volume, but a more pronounced throaty midrange and bass response.  Think of it as "F Extra!"

The top on this one is special Adirondack with striking wide grain, and the back, sides, and neck are highly figured maple.  The high gloss finish on this one makes both the colors and the figure really pop!  The fingerboard and bridge are ebony.  For hardware, there are Gotoh tuners and a nickel-plated engraved Gilchrist/Northfield tailpiece.  The pick guard is bound ebony.  Wider 1 3/16" nut width.  Hybrid varnish finish with vintage sunburst.  Includes the Airloom "Recurve" case.
