Kevin Kopp 20th Anniversary NL Model, Redwood, Palo Escrito - NEW

(NEW) We've reached the end of the road for our 20th Anniversary Kevin Kopp builds, and what a ride it's been!  As we've told you in previous listings, we took this year to push the boundaries and create some extra-special pieces, in many cases not staying super-dedicated to the traditional Gibson aesthetic.  It has paid off massively, and this last NL of the year is proof that a builder of Kevin's skill and experience always has a few surprises left up his sleeve!

This guitar is extremely pleasing, both visually and sonically.  We had Kevin take the venerable deep body L-00 (Nick Lucas style) and combine the warmth of redwood with the exotic rosewood character of Palo Escrito.  Palo Escrito grows in Mexico and has long been a favorite for stringed instruments, particularly classical guitars.  It looks no less than fabulous on this guitar, and the sound is rich and inviting.  Not a lot of gingerbread here, with a no-inlay ebony fingerboard, ivoroid body binding and bound sound hole plus a fire stripe pick guard.  The wood is really the star of the show.

Short 24 5/8" scale length with 1 3/4" nut and 2 1/4" string spacing at the saddle.  The neck is a C shape and measures .89" thick at the first fret, .94" at the ninth.  The bridge is Madagascar rosewood with bone pins and a nice tall bone saddle.  The tuners are Waverly with ebony buttons.  Includes hard case.
