NOTE - THIS SHOW IS AT ACOUSTIC MUSIC WORKS' NEW LOCATION, 1219 BINGHAM ON THE SOUTH SIDE!
The South Side Arts & Innovation Series marks a bold new chapter for one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic neighborhoods. This first-ever series brings together artists, entrepreneurs, makers, technologists, and community leaders from the South Side and beyond, welcoming participants and visitors from across Pittsburgh and the region to engage, explore, and connect.
Focused on highlighting the arts and building the South Side as a regional arts hub, the series blends the arts, music, food, and drink in vibrant, social settings that rotate among South Side restaurants, bars, and open spaces. Tapping into the South Side’s long history as a vibrant arts and cultural community, each gathering honors the neighborhood’s creative roots while presenting new ideas and contemporary expressions.
A key vision of the series is to help spark a Music and Arts Row along East Carson Street, Pittsburgh’s Main Street, where creativity is visible, accessible, and celebrated. Through performances, exhibitions, pop-ups, and partnerships with local businesses, the series aims to reinforce East Carson Street as a destination for arts-driven activity and cultural exchange.
From pop-up exhibitions and live music to creative demonstrations and discussions exploring the intersection of art, innovation, small business, placemaking, and neighborhood revitalization, every event is rooted in the South Side’s past while looking toward its future.
At its core, the South Side Arts & Innovation Series is about collaboration—connecting people with new voices and ideas, supporting local businesses, and creating experiences that draw people into the neighborhood to explore, create, and stay. As the inaugural year, this series sets the foundation for an ongoing platform that positions the South Side as a destination where creativity thrives, ideas are tested, and community comes together.
This event features live jazz and blues from Jessica Lee and Mark Strickland, pop up bar courtesy of Club Cafe and a food truck from Streets on Carson.
