Trade & Consign
Any great music store will be happy to discuss trades, though we often warn that trading to a dealer might not be the best use of your instrument. A dealer needs to use the item that you're trading to make up the profit in the new item that has captured your attention. As such, trades are a case-by-case thing, and we often recommend customers attempting a private sale first, to net the best return.
Consignment is a very popular option in our shop. With consignment, you not only get the instrument out of your house (making room for more!) but you've got a shop with over 25 years experience, representing it like one of their own. All consignment instruments get attentively cleaned up, set up, photographed and written up just like our new instruments. You set the price, with our guidance, and we deal with potential buyers, processing payment and shipping.
Our consignment rate is 75% net to you, 25% to us, after shipping/credit card fees. When a consignment sale is directly related to another purchase at our shop, or the funds are left on account, the rate is more favorable: 80% to you, 20% to us, after fees. Please email info@acousticmusicworks.com for any questions pertaining to trades or consignments!
Our full consignment form is here, please print, fill out and include it with the instrument you are consigning.
