Friday, June 5th - We are excited to welcome Wood Belly String Band to our new shop on the South Side!
From the very beginning, Wood Belly has followed the songs, leaning into honest stories and a broad love for American roots music. The original lineup cultivated a rare sense of connection with listeners far and wide, leaving behind a trail of smiles, memories, and joyous evenings. We hold deep gratitude for those members and the artistry they poured into building this body of work. These chapters live on as an essential part of Wood Belly’s identity.
A new chapter unfolds with Wood Belly String Band, as founder and frontman, Chris Weist (mandolin), carries the spirit forward alongside some of the finest pickers Fort Collins could muster in Sam Patterson (guitar), Corey Clark (banjo) and Scott Kwiatek (upright bass). A meeting of kindred musicians, rooted in shared musical language and a deep trust in the power of a good song.
The renewed string band conjures a sound that seamlessly drifts between motion and stillness. Offering a repertoire that floats from hard driving bluegrass to soft drifting ballads, Wood Belly String Band is nothing short of dynamic. The songs rise and fall with intention and are anchored by melody, shaped by texture, and guided by a deep focus on vocal blend and harmony.
Wood Belly String Band is a continuation, a renewal, and a gathering around the same fire that started it all.
Shade Valley String Band is a new collection of Pittsburgh bluegrass musicians who promise a fun and variegated set of tunes both traditional and non-traditional!
The show - seating is extremely limited, we expect this one to sell out! We are offering pre-sale on 65 tickets and then will revert to standing room only on the day of the show. Doors at 7pm, music starting around 8pm. $20 guarantees a seat, though not any seat in particular! First come, first pick. This show will be BYOB. Please call us at the shop with any questions!
