(NEW) After about 25 years of creating world-class flat-top guitars, Mark Dalton got the itch to do something he had wanted to do for a long time: take an honest stab at building a premium electric guitar. Well, we're not disappointed with the results! The Statesboro can hang right up there with the greatest custom, production shop and one-man builds.
This guitar has an awesome looking Master-Grade thermo-cured maple top, and there's nothing like torrefaction to bring the visual richness out of maple. Flame for days on this one! The mahogany body and neck aren't the lightest out there, and the whole machine comes in at about 8 lbs 13 oz, but it can certainly be heard in the sustain. The pickups are top of the line Lindy Fralin P.A.F.s, and the gold pickup covers and additional gold hardware come off as elegant but not ostentatious.
Specs include short 24 3/4" scale, with 1 11/16" nut width. Long pattern dot inlays on a rosewood board. Full "C" shaped mahogany neck. Gold Gotoh tuners with ivoroid buttons. Gold ABR-1 bridge. Includes tweed style hard case.
Fans of both shops will know that we got this guitar from our merger with Nashville's Artisan Guitars. The warranty has been transferred and it is to be sold as new. To honor our friends at Artisan, here is our friend Jesse comparing this build to another that was transferred to our store. Thanks, Jesse!
