(NEW) We usually lean on Huss & Dalton for traditionally styled instruments that function on the highest level. We admire their dreadnoughts for their power and rumble, and the small guitars for their clarity and comfort. Well, sometimes we have to remind ourselves that the world of OMs in much better from having H&D in it!
This excellent, lightly built OM has a musicality and a level of tonal complexity that can stand toe to toe with any Froggy Bottom, Osthoff or Goodall. Indeed, we asked H&D to go "all in" on this one, and we couldn't be happier with the result. Tight-grained Italian spruce pairs perfectly with Beeswing mahogany for an unusually lush mahogany experience. The soft cutaway means that the tonal possibilities of the entire fingerboard are readily available. The appointments are clean, elegant. Ebony binding throughout, single-band abalone rosette, sting ray fingerboard inlays, gold Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons.
For specs, this instrument has the standard OM long scale, with 1 3/4" nut and 2 1/4" string spacing at the saddle. The bone saddle stands tall and has excellent break angle. Mahogany neck with modified "V" profile and satin finish. The fingerboard, bridge and pins are all ebony. Includes TKL hard case.
The sound is, in a word, exquisite. A serious contender for OM of the year in our shop.
