(NEW) Furch has meticulously engineered their Little Jane guitars for not only portability and comfort, but also tuning stability and a shocking quality of tone from such a small instrument. Our very first ones have finally rolled in (after a long back order) and we are impressed. Late to the party, maybe, but impressed!
This example has a Sitka spruce top, with Indian rosewood back/sides and mahogany neck. It has a 1 3/4" nut width, 2 3/16" string spacing at the saddle, and a short 24 1/4" scale length. The neck profile is a comfortable modified low oval. The fingerboard is ebony with small dot inlays, and the headstock sports locking closed-gear tuners.
We've included Furch's video in this listing not because it is this exact guitar, but because it shows the assembly process. Cleverly, the neck fits inside the body when the guitar is packed away, and the whole instrument fits in a small backpack (included!) Also evident from the video is just how much sound these guitars put out.
It's novel, to be sure, but Furch seems to have covered all the bases for not only a convenient travel guitar, but also a lovely sounding small-bodied guitar that just happens to fit almost anywhere!
