(NEW) Already a superstar in the world of Gibby recreations, Dale Fairbanks has directed some of his attention toward a square-shouldered, long scale dreadnought, one that takes advantage of his limited stash of hand-picked sinker and old growth tone woods. This Salvage Series dreadnought really took our breath away, and at an astonishing 3 1/2 lbs, we're a little worried it might blow away! Full-sized guitars rarely if ever run this light, there's something very satisfying about having this one in your lap.
The top is sinker Sitka, known for its more complex voice due to its higher mineral content, and the back and sides are old growth mahogany. It has one of Dale's excellent dark sunbursts and an oversized (but not overly thick) tortoise pick guard. The guitar has a long 25 1/2" scale length with 1 3/4" nut width and just shy of 2 1/4" string spacing at the saddle. He calls the neck shape a C, which must stand for "comfortable" and not overly "chunky".
Rosewood fingerboard, bridge and Waverly tuners complete the package. The sound of this one is clean and articulate, balanced, it would make an excellent recording guitar. Includes hard case.
