(NEW) Okay, we admit it. We're flabbergasted. Gobsmacked. Socks = knocked off. Eastman has once again defied the laws of nature and given us a guitar that sounds and looks gorgeous, plays like a dream and costs... well, not nearly enough. We do a robust business with the Eastman brand and see hundreds of their instruments in a given year, but once in a while we are just... wow.
This L00SS model is an extremely lovely small-bodied guitar, a boutique guitar at a budget price. Every detail was considered in making this model: it has a creamy, tight-grained European spruce top, FABULOUS quilted Sapele back and sides, and a sound that won't be denied! L-00 models normally have anywhere from a hint to a generous amount of compression or "boxy" character to the sound, which is great for rags and blues but not a whole lot else... this one, on the other hand, is open and inviting sounding, clear and honest sounding. Fantastic!
It's short scale (24 3/4") with a 1 11/16" nut, 2 5/32" string spacing at the saddle and their "vintage C" neck profile. The appointments are generous on this one, with rosewood binding, a sound port, bound neck and peghead, a Snakewood rosette and subtle turquoise accents on every edge. Hurricane pearl fingerboard inlays. Open-gear tuners with ebony buttons. The fingerboard, bridge and pins are ebony, the bone saddle sits nice and tall (yet the action is nice and buttery!) Includes hard case.
A very special instrument, trust us!
