(NEW) The most diminutive guitar in the Collings arsenal definitely makes a BIG statement. The Parlor 1 was introduced a few years ago as part of the Collings Traditional lineup. This one is fine fine FINE and features some dazzling Koa back and sides (Collings gets the best Koa, don't they?) and a silky Sitka spruce top. It is a heady brew indeed, with understated appointments and deep, three-dimensional figuring in the wood.
As part of the Traditional lineup, this guitar has forward-shifted, scalloped Sitka braces and no tongue brace, the Traditional modified V neck carve, a 1 3/4" nut and 2 5/16" string spacing at the drop-in saddle. Short 24 1/2" scale. 1-Style appointments include the Traditional rosette and purfling scheme, and this guitar has a nice dark ebony fingerboard with dot inlays. Engraved Waverly 3-on-a-plate tuners.
Now here's the part that will perk up the ears of any Collings fan: this is the LAST Parlor that we will receive with the Collings vintage-style case. This case is now discontinued and we are told that case production at the Collings factory has ended... making this package something very special. Weight of guitar is 3 lbs 1 oz, weight of the case is 8 lbs 3 oz... we'll let you do that math, but trust us, your back will thank us later!
