This mandolin has a premium Italian spruce top, distinctive bubble maple back and sides (for lovers of lunar landscapes, gaze at this for a while!) and the always welcome thin varnish finish.  Varnish is the "secret weapon" when it comes to mandolins, as it allows for maximum top movement, greatest volume and quickest response.  Indeed, the sustain of this instrument is next-level, and it has a piano-like evenness of response up and down the fingerboard. 

Being an MF5, it's got just about every option.  Fully bound in ivoroid, with bound ebony pick guard, ebony peghead overlay with flowerpot inlay, Waverly tuners and matching engraved James tailpiece.  Standard 1 1/8" nut width.  Includes TKL hard case.
