Collings D3 Dreadnought, Old Growth Sitka, Indian Rosewood - NEW

(NEW) The jewel of the Collings standard line is the D3, a fancified version of the dreadnought that started it all for Bill in the late 70s.  The "3" package is a set of appointments that can be added to any model in the standard line.  It includes full body ivoroid binding, no fingerboard inlays, abalone rosette, marquetry backstrip and dropping the herringbone from the top border.  Standard line Collings instruments feature forward-shifted, scalloped Sitka braces, a maple bridge plate and Waverly tuners.  

We had this one built with an old growth Sitka top, which seems to have a warmer, more broken in sound than standard issue Sitka.  It has east Indian rosewood back/sides and a mahogany neck with their standard mod V profile, a 1 3/4" nut and 2 3/16" string spacing at the saddle.  

A serious dreadnought from a serious shop.  Includes hard case.
