Collings D2HAT, Traditional Model, Adirondack Spruce, Indian Rosewood - NEW

(NEW) Collings is top dog in the modern flat top space, and you could argue that the Traditional dreads are top dog in their lineup, espousing all the power and clarity that Collings guitars are known for, but with a decidedly warmer, vintage-inspired spirit to them.  This D2HAT is one of the rowdiest dreads in our shop, it's going to serve a flatpicker or bluegrasser exceptionally well.

Adirondack spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides.  Being a Traditional model, it has a variety of features that distinguish it from guitars in the standard line.  It has forward-shifted scalloped Sitka spruce braces, no tongue brace, and a smaller, thinner maple bridge plate.  The finish on the Traditional models is thinner and is nitrocellulose lacquer only, no modern vinyl/plastics in the sealer coats.  Traditional models also have rolled fingerboard edges, a slightly beefier neck profile and slightly different herringbone trim and rosette.

This one has 1 3/4" nut, 2 5/16" string spacing at the saddle, and is the standard long 25 1/2" scale length.  Tone-wise, this thing absolutely cooks, it's the first and last dread that you'll ever need if your goal is to be heard in an ensemble setting.  Includes original hard case.
