(NEW) Collings dreadnoughts are powerful, we mean REALLY powerful, but that's not all they do.  Certain tonewood combinations can be utilized to bring out richness and complexity, and we've got one of those combos right here!

This D2H just arrived with a baked Sitka spruce top and Cocobolo back and sides.  We've been singing the praises of torrefaction (the "baking" that Collings refers to) for over a decade now, it has become a widely accepted process that pre-ages the wood for optimal dryness and stiffness, and results in a guitar that sounds all played in, right out of the gate.  Combined with Cocobolo, a somewhat lush rosewood variant, we get a dread that is greater than the sum of its parts, warmer and fuller in sound than the average D2H.  We're enjoying it quite a bit!

Standard 1 11/16" nut, 2 3/16" string spacing, Collings modified V neck profile.  Compound radius ebony fingerboard with diamond/square inlays.  Ebony bridge and pins.  Appointments are all standard "2 Style" including ivoroid body binding, herringbone top trim, three-ring rosette, zipper backstrip and diamond volute.  Tuners are nickel Waverly.  Includes hard case.
