Collings D2A Hill Country, Adirondack Spruce, Indian Rosewood, Sunburst - NEW

(NEW) In a store full of compelling dreadnoughts, sometimes one comes along that is just an ABSOLUTE UNIT, reminding us that big guitars exist for a reason, and that being named after a battleship was no accident.  The Hill Country series represent Collings biggest departure to date from their original voicing, with a warmer midrange and richer bass... but that said, they still retain all of the power and clarity that the brand is known for, not to mention their legendary build quality, fit and finish.

This guitar is Indian rosewood with an Adirondack spruce top, finished with a dark sunburst and a high gloss finish.  The HC series feature individualized sets of poured pick guard, heel cap and rosette rings, unique to each instrument.  For specs, we've got 1 3/4" nut, 2 5/16" string spacing at the saddle and long 25 1/2" scale length.  The mahogany neck has a full-ish mod V profile (reminiscent of their Vintage Now shape, or at least we think so) and on this instrument measures .852" at the first fret and .944" at the ninth.  Cosmetic appointments include ivoroid binding, ebony bridge pins, ebony fingerboard with diamond/square inlays and embossed Collings logo on the back of the peghead. 

It weighs in at 4lbs 6oz and includes the original hard case.

It's all been leading up to this, folks!  A world class dreadnought from one of the best to ever do it.
