(NEW) The Collings D1 Traditional is the latest twist on their legendary dreadnought design, and by looking toward the past, brings some features that players have been hoping for... firstly, the sound: Collings' Traditional guitars are by far their warmest sounding instrument, right out of the box. They achieve this by going with a thinner lacquer finish, scalloped Sitka braces with no tongue brace, thin maple bridge plates and animal protein glue construction. Now, with the option of the slimmed-down Traditional neck profile and a 1 11/16" nut width, the feel has become much more familiar to Collings fans.
This wonderful example has a Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, ebony fingerboard with rolled edges for comfort, ebony bridge with Stew Mac faux-tortoise pins and cut-through saddle. String spacing at the saddle is 2 5/16". Waverly tuners, of course. Priced with TKL hard case.
