(NEW) We always loved Collings' sunbursts, but in the Traditional era, they have become truly something to behold. We can request subtly darker hues, and this guitar is an example of a finish that splits the difference between their "style 1" and "style 2" burst tones. The satin is the cherry on the cake, it really lends a very organic feel to the proceedings.
Like all Traditional models, this D1T has a refined construction with a few subtle tweaks to the original Collings recipe. It has forward-shifted Sitka braces, no tongue brace, a smaller maple bridge plate, and an overall lighter build. The neck has the Traditional modified "V" carve, this time with 1 11/16" nut width and 2 3/16" string spacing at the saddle. Also exclusive to the Traditional line are the rolled fingerboard edges on the fretboard, and a centralized neck reenforcement around the truss rod.
Being a D1T, it has a Sitka spruce top and Honduran mahogany back and sides. Ebony fingerboard and bridge, faux-Tortoise bridge pins and bindings. It has relic'd Waverly open-gear tuners and comes with a TKL hard case.
