Collings D1AT, Traditional Model, Baked Adirondack Spruce, Mahogany - NEW- SOLD

SOLD

(NEW) Uh oh...  the boss is coming!  The D1AT is Collings' powerhouse dreadnought.  Nothing is more powerful for flatpicking and bluegrass, period.  These guitars marry Bill Collings' vision for an impeccably built, life-lasting, straight outa Texas guitar with a few important Traditional features that were inspired by instruments of the past:  premium tonewoods, smaller bridge plates, forward-shifted scalloped bracing, small maple bridge plate, no tongue brace, a thinner nitrocellulose lacquer finish... trust us, it works!  Though the Traditionals were inspired by the past, they are actually writing the future of the Collings story.

This D1AT has a torrefied Adirondack top.  The torrefaction process crystalized the resins in the wood and cooks out the volatiles like sap, pitch and sugar... resulting in a guitar that looks, sounds and responds like a vintage instrument.  Mahogany back and sides.  Mahogany neck with Traditional mod V neck profile, 1 3/4" nut, 2 5/16" string spacing at the tall cut-through saddle.  The fingerboard is ebony with dot inlays.  The bridge is also ebony, and the pins are Stew Mac faux tortoise.  Waverly tuners.  Includes original TKL hard case with Collings badge.
