(SOLD) For your consideration, a superb *traditional* Mahogany dreadnought from the team at Collings. By going with a thinner nitrocellulose lacquer finish, animal glue construction and a slightly re-tuned bracing system, these new Traditional series a more vintage-inspired direction. On this guitar we went with a baked (torrefied) Adirondack spruce top, which has ample volume, quick response and a more played-in sound right out of the box. It's still a Collings, though, with plenty of midrange sparkle to cut through any jam.
The "T" series has a new neck carve based loosely on Collings' Vintage Now profile, a full-feeling carve (but smaller overall than prototypes from the first year) that adds some meat to the shoulders of a typical mod-V. The nut width is 1 3/4" and the string spacing at the saddle is a strong 2 5/16". Sitka braces, no tongue brace. These are some of Collings' overall lightest builds, and you can hear it in the guitar's quick response. Ebony fingerboard with rolled edges, ebony bridge with cut-through saddle, Stew Mac "Tortoise" bridge pins.
Again, this is just a superb instrument, by one of the best makers to ever do it. If you like mahogany, if you like Adirondack spruce, if you like a loud guitar... this is the one you've been waiting for! Includes new vintage style Collings-made case.
