Collings D1 Custom, Old Growth Sitka, Mahogany, Adirondack Braces, No Tongue Brace - NEW

(NEW) With a company as precise as Collings, sometimes little tweaks can yield big outcomes.  One of our favorite inexpensive upgrades on a D1 is to switch the bracing to Adirondack spruce (adding extra stiffness and headroom to the Old Growth Sitka top, already stiffer than usual) and to leave out the tongue brace, a vintage-inspired touch that brings more warmth via a looser upper bout.  

Everything else about this one is pure D1, from the mahogany back/sides/neck to the tortoise body binding, 3-ring rosette, ebony fingerboard with dot inlays and nickel Waverly tuners.  This one has a 25 1/2" scale, 1 3/4" nut and 2 3/16" string spacing at the saddle.  

An absolute workhorse.  Price includes hard case, of course!
