Collings 71 Solid Body, Ash, Ellis Tele Pickups - NEW

(NEW) We are so digging this new offset/T-style hybrid from Collings!  Like the others we've played, this one is nice and light (6lbs 6oz) and has vibe behind every curve.  There's never been a Tele quite like this, and it ain't Collings' style to just retread the past without some personal touches.  

The body is ash, and this color hits us as kind of a translucent "Fiesta Red", leaning on the pink-ish red side of things.  The pickups are Ellis Tele-style with the familiar bar at the neck and single coil w/ poles at the bridge.  The sound and playability will make you forget the "F word" pretty fast, as this is a fine-tuned solid-body tone machine!  A surprising amount of acoustic energy when unplugged, we need to remind ourselves how often Collings meets this mark (it's most of the time, TBH).  Plugged in, it's off to the races.  Picture the sound in your head, go over the horizon, and you might almost be there.  

Long 25 1/2" scale with 1 11/16" nut width.  The maple neck is a mod V shape and measures .86" thick at the first fret, .913" at the ninth.  The fingerboard is rosewood with pearl dot inlays.  Mint pick guard, radio tone/volume knobs and six-on-side Kluson tuners complete the package.
