Collings 02H Traditional, 12-Fret, Baked Sitka, Indian Rosewood - NEW - SOLD

SOLD

(NEW) What else is there to say about the Collings Traditional lineup?  By lightening the build, thinning the finish and making a few tweaks under the hood, Collings was able to marry their original, articulate voice to a warmer, sweeter vintage-inspired sound.  As small-bodied guitars go, this 02H is an absolute hum-dinger!  It has a very strong sound for such a little guitar, warm and open, without the compression or "boxy" character sometimes heard in parlor guitars.

It all starts with the torrefied/baked Sitka top, a major contributing factor to the dry, welcoming sound of this instrument.  It's a great pairing with east Indian rosewood.  Sitka and EIR can sound mushy from certain well-known brands, but that is never the case with a Collings.

Other specs include short 24 7/8" scale length, 1 3/4" nut, and 2 5/16" string spacing at the saddle.  The one-piece mahogany neck has the Traditional carve modified "V" shape, which has been slimmed down noticeably since the first couple years.  Forward-shifted, scalloped Sitka spruce bracing with no tongue brace and maple bridge plate.  Ebony fingerboard and bridge.  Ivoroid body binding, special Traditional herringbone top trim and zipper back strip.  Slotted peghead with Waverly open gear tuners.  Includes TKL hardshell case.
