Circa 1960s Harmony 12-String, Spruce/Mahogany, Assembled By Harry Lewman - USED

ON CONSIGNMENT, NO TRADE OFFERS PLEASE!

(USED) From the collection of Ernie Hawkins, here is a fun and funky 12-string put together by master country blues artist and instructor Harry Lewman (RIP).  The body is a ladder-braced Harmony with 16 1/4" lower bout and a 4" body depth at the heel, 4 1/2" at the tail.  It has a Sitka spruce top, mahogany back/sides/neck.  If you've never played a ladder-braced 12-string, they have a haunting dimension to the sound, these things really ooze the blues and it's hard to get a slide to sound better than they do on a box like this.

The neck has a D shape with 1 15/16" nut width and a string spacing of just under 2 3/8" at the saddle.  It has an ebony fingerboard with no fret markers, and a twin saddle floating rosewood bridge and trapeze tailpiece.  Long 26 1/2" scale length is great for alternate or lowered tunings.  Grover tuners.

Condition is good with one small stable crack in the top on the treble side of the waist, some dings and scratches throughout.  Action is good and could be easily lowered via the bottom of the bridge for a player who has a really light touch.
