(NEW) It's shocking to us how good these early guitars by Chad Gillander are! Chad is a serious student of luthiery, an up and coming builder who is gaining a reputation for great sounding guitars that diverge from the norm in subtle ways. His OM model may look like many others at first glance, but it has a slimmer body design (3" depth at the heel, just over 3 3/4" at the tail) that makes it, as they would say in Boston "Wicked comfortable!" without sacrificing sound. Indeed, this thing has power to spare, it is one of the louder OMs in our store right now.
Adirondack spruce top, Pau Ferro back and sides. If you're not familiar with Pau Ferro, it's an excellent wood for building guitars. It has a lot of the stuff that Indian rosewood does, with a stronger fundamental and lighter weight overall. This is a long scale guitar, with 1 3/4" nut and 2 1/8" string spacing at the saddle. It has a mahogany neck with Chad's shallow C neck carve, fast and comfortable. It has an ebony fingerboard with diamond/square inlays and Gold Evo frets. Additional features include rosewood binding, radial rosette, Waverly tuners with ebony buttons and the increasingly popular sound port. Includes hard case.
This guitar was displayed at the 2024 Fretboard Summit and shows light handling wear, but is being warranted as brand new by Mr. Gillander.
