(NEW) With all of the turmoil in the world, all of the supply chain issues we've been experiencing, it is heartwarming to know that one of the most dependably compelling OMs available can still find its way into our shop: we've played a lot of Bourgeois OMs, and consider theirs one of the absolute best in the game. We're happy to report that this new OMC, fresh from the 2022 NAMM collection, is as good as any that have come before. The Soloist is the design that Dana Bourgeois and Eric Schoenberg collaborated on in the early days of Dana's career, and little did they know that it would play a huge role in the resurgence of what is now one of the most popular guitar shapes in the world!
This lovely guitar has European spruce with long, shimmery streaks of bear claw, and a fine looking set of Madagascar rosewood. These tone woods compliment each other perfectly, and the sound of this guitar is undeniably rich, complex and beautiful. The Soloist comes with a soft cutaway for upper fret access, so you can take advantage of the clean, balanced response all the way up and down the fingerboard.
Appointments include wood ring rosette, Ziricote body binding, b/w/b and maple top purfling with crisp side and back purfling lines for contrast. The ebony fingerboard is adorned with short pattern abalone diamond and square inlays.
Specs include a 1 3/4" nut, 2 5/16" string spacing on an ebony pyramid bridge, and a long scale of 25 1/2". Polished bone nut, saddle and bridge pins. The mahogany neck has the standard Bourgeois mod-V shape and a smooth satin finish. Tuners are gold Waverly with ebony buttons. Includes original TKL hard case.
A glorious instrument!
