(NEW) When we ordered this lovely jumbo from Bourgeois, we envisioned a guitar that *leaned* fingerstyle, but would also have a strong voice when strummed. Visions of Richard Thompson were swimming in our heads, and the instrument that arrived exceeded our expectations! The DBJC is the biggest guitar that Bourgeois makes, measuring 16 1/4" across the lower bout. It somehow doesn't feel like a big guitar when you're holding it, it is quite well balanced. The top is redwood and the sides are Indian rosewood, so the voice is warm and complex, but also articulate. There doesn't seem to be a tuning or a style of music that this guitar doesn't like.
Long 25 1/2" scale with 1 23/32" nut and 2 5/16" string spacing at the saddle. DB Signature appointments include koa binding, special DB herringbone top trim, marquetry backstrip and gold Waverly tuners with snakewood buttons. The fingerboard and bridge are ebony, the pins are bone. The neck profile is modified V and the neck finish is satin (the rest of the guitar is full gloss). Pick guard is included and can be installed after purchase or left off. Includes original hard case.
