Baleno 12-Fret L-00, Torrefied Adirondack Spruce, Indian Rosewood, Comfort Bevel - NEW - SOLD

SOLD

(NEW) This little guitar has our whole store buzzing!  Chuck Baleno, long one of our favorite local luthiers (and favorite builders, period) surprised us last week with this amazing L-00, built with the finest materials and a serious attention to every detail.

The most unusual feature is the Grit Laskin-style comfort bevel, an elegant solution to right arm fatigue, and implemented here, flawlessly.  We love the ever-so-slight figuring on the Beech bevel (and bindings) and the perfect mitering on the bloodwood purfling.  For fans of "no plastic" guitars with a bespoke, wood-oriented look, we've got you covered, completely.

The sound is phenomenal, thanks to Chuck's very scientific voicing techniques and helped in part by a torrefied Adirondack spruce soundboard, hide glue bracing construction, and AAA-grade Indian rosewood on the back and sides.  This short (24.9") scale guitar features a mahogany neck with Mr. Baleno's new modified V neck profile, 1 3/4" compensated nut for spot-on intonation, 2 1/4" string spacing at the saddle, and stainless steel frets that will outlast all of us.  Ebony fingerboard with compound radius, ebony bridge with bone pins.  Waverly tuners with ebony buttons.  Thin lacquer finish.

One of our favorite small guitars in the shop right now, and one of the best Baleno instruments that we've had the pleasure to represent, and those were already VERY big shoes to fill.  We can't think of any other American builders offering this level of quality, tone and features at this price point.  Includes original hard case and full warranty to the original owner.
