Atkin 000-37, Sitka Spruce, Indian Rosewood, Sunburst - NEW

(NEW) Mmmm.  Now that's nice.  Just arrived, a lovely 000 14-fret model from our friends at Atkin Guitars, Canterbury, England.  This one, we freely admit, is a little extra.  It has a sunburst for the ages, but it also has gold sparkle purfling and rosette details.  You might ask "Why?" to which we will retort...

WHY NOT?

...but enough about the frosting, let us describe the cake: 14-fret 000 in the Martin tradition, with a Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides and a mahogany neck.  A couple points of interest: the nut width measures about 1 25/32", right between the ubiquitous 1 3/4" and the sometimes pined for 1 13/16".  Translation: a little wider than usual.  The string spacing at the saddle is 2 5/16".  The scale length is a short 25".  The lacquer finish is thoughtfully checked for a vintage feel and sound.

Ivoroid body and neck binding, ebony fingerboard and bridge, bone pins, relic'd Gotoh open gear tuners.  Hard case included.

Take it from us, they're cooking up something special in Canterbury!
