(USED) The Waterloos have returned!! For how long? Probably not very long... but we can still get excited! As many of you probably know, Waterloo production has slowed down dramatically as Collings directs resources to their incredibly popular acoustic and electric guitars. This means that we rarely have any on offer, but today is a little different. Through no small amount of luck, we're once again spreading the Waterloo gospel, and we're kicking it off with their flagship WL-14!
The WL-14 is a 00 model in the tradition of Kalamazoo's KG-14. It has a simple design, basic appointments, and an honest, woody voice that has captivated many, us included! It kicked off the Waterloo story in style, and has been their most popular offering ever since.
Spruce top, mahogany back/sides, rosewood fingerboard, ebony bridge. X-bracing with adjustable truss rod. Original large V neck with 1 3/4" nut width, short 24.9" scale length, generous 2 3/8" string spacing at the saddle. Firestripe pick guard, sunburst top finish, ivoroid top and sound hole binding. Tuners are Golden Age from Stew Mac.
Condition on this one is very good, with some very light pick swipes and a small ding on the bass side of the upper bout. There is a stabilized dent on the bass side, and a pretty good ding on the bass side edge at the back. The peghead has a few nicks, but otherwise playability and setup are as they were from the factory. This one was made to be played!!! Includes original hard case.
Video is of previously sold examples.
