(USED) This Cumberland model from Nashville Banjo Company is very distinctive. The craftsmanship is excellent, and the appointments have an old time charm. One of the most intriguing things, though, is how mellow it sounds. It has a deep, round cluck with nary a bit of harshness to it. It would be an excellent banjo to sing with.
This 12" banjo has a black walnut body and neck, 25 1/2" scale length, 1 5/16" buffalo horn nut, vintage style heel, semi-V neck shape and brass frailing scoop. Much of the tone could probably be attributed to the artisan goat skin head. Gotoh tuners, hand-rubbed matte poly finish. Spikes installed at 7 and 9.
Condition is excellent with some very shallow scratching on the peghead overlay (see photo for detail) and one light spot in the finish on the back of the neck. Includes padded Access bag.
AMW Price: $1,895 (On consignment, no trades!)
