2020 Collings 001A Traditional, 12-Fret, Adirondack Spruce, Mahogany - USED

(USED) Just arrived, a wonderful example of Collings' powerful and precise guitar making.  This 001A has so much "stuff" it isn't even funny!  It has a wide-grained Adirondack spruce top with seemingly infinite headroom, and has lightweight mahogany back and sides.  The Traditional build takes Collings' legendary build quality and adds a few changes to specs and cosmetics to achieve a warmer, more vintage-inspired voice right out of the box.  Traditional models have no tongue brace, they have forward-shifted scalloped Sitka braces, smaller maple bridge plates, rolled fingerboard edges and a thinner nitrocellulose lacquer finish.  They really up the stakes for Collings' already world-class guitars.

This one has 01-style Traditional appointments including 3-ring rosette, dot inlays and b/w/b top purfling.  It also has an ebony pyramid bridge, a 1 3/4" nut with 2 5/16" string spacing at the saddle and short 24.9" scale.  It has nickel Waverly tuners.

The condition is excellent + on this one, no issues whatsoever.  Only the most minimal hints of fret use under the unwound strings, no cosmetic or structural problems.  Includes TKL hard case.

An absolutely killer guitar!  Price new will exceed $8K in 2024.
