(USED) We're massive fans of Kevin Kopp and his wonderful guitars, and we think that there are few instruments that could be considered more soulful or more musical.. but the RJ model, a feather-light little firecracker of a guitar, might absolutely be the most fun!
This model is known for its association with one of the only photographs of blues legend Robert Johnson, and indeed it is one of the earliest Gibson flat top designs. It's a distinctive shape, with the arc of the lower bout forming almost a perfect circle, with a bridge smack-dab in the middle. This design can play the blues, surely, but it can also do so much more. The warmth and body that comes with the 12-fret configuration is immediately apparent. It is an extraordinarily responsive guitar, thanks again to its extremely light build.
1 3/4" nut with 2 1/4" saddle spacing, short 24 5/8" scale and a very comfortable "C" neck. It has Waverly tuners with ebony buttons, and a Madagascar rosewood fingerboard and bridge. The playing condition is excellent with great action, tall saddle and no fret wear, but there are a few unfortunate long lacquer checks on the top and neck, probably from a quick temperature shift. Don't let that bug you, though. This guitar is going to be an ongoing source of musical inspiration!
