(USED) Who is ready to take their electric game to bold new levels?? Well, master luthier Otto D'Ambrosio certainly was when he helped Eastman design the ER4, an extremely cool thinline archtop with a distinctive design. From its offset ovular sound holes to its highly contoured cutaway, the ER4 dares to be different, with form and function doled out in equal measure.
This prototype guitar has a USA label signed by Otto D'ambrosio, as is the certificate of authenticity.
Carved solid Adirondack spruce top, carved figured mahogany back and sides. We've heard mahogany with this kind of figure sometimes referred to as "ribbon" mahogany, and its appearance is reminiscent of lightly figured maple or koa. Since the proportions of this guitar are somewhat unusual, here are a few measurements for context: the lower bout is appox 16 1/4" at the widest point, and the depth at the center of the body approximately 3", tapering to about 2 1/4" at the rims. The nut measures 1 11/16", with 2 3/16" string spacing at the saddle and short 25" scale. Mahogany neck with fast "C" profile. The fingerboard, bridge and tailpiece are ebony, and the inlay pattern is Eastman's Pearl Thumbnail style. Single Lollar Imperial humbucker in the neck position. The tuners are gold Schallers with ebony buttons.
Condition is excellent with one very small ding on the bass side of the neck shaft behind the 6th fret and almost zero fret wear. It is currently sporting gold knobs w/ MOP tops, but the original Zebrawood knobs are also included. Includes original hard case.
