2016 Phoenix Jazz 2-Point Mandolin, European Spruce, Maple, Armstrong/McIntyre Pickups - USED

ON CONSIGNMENT, NO TRADE OFFERS PLEASE!

(USED) Rolfe Gerhardt designed some pretty amazing mandolins under the Phoenix banner, and one of the most distinctive is the Jazz model.  It has a mellow yet articulate voicing that pairs perfectly with flat-wound strings and low action.  The two-point design makes access to all frets (and from all angles) a breeze, thereby making it one of the coolest instruments ever designed for jazz mandolin playing.  On top of that, a combination of Armstrong magnetic and McIntire piezo pickups means that it shines just as brightly in the amplified realm as it does acoustically!

The top is European spruce, the back and sides are flamed maple.  Dark sunburst finish, ebony pick guard and tailpiece cover, and ebony head plate with Phoenix bird inlay.  Radius'd ebony fingerboard with offset pearl dot inlays.  Ebony nut with 1 3/32" width.

This instrument was built toward the very end of Rolfe's building career.  Some very light play wear, including very faint fret wear, a few swipe marks on the pick guard and a small ding on the edge of the top, at the widest point.  Includes hard case.

A very, very inspiring instrument!
