(USED) Now this is a treat!  Top of the line oval-hole mandolin from the great team at Collings, in their distinctive merlot finish.  The florentine models from Collings are prized for their piano-like even response up and down the fingerboard, and this one is no different.  An X-braced mandolin with an oval sound hole tends to have a warmer sound, vs the higher projection of an F-hole instrument.  This one is bell-like and chime-y. 

The condition is excellent, with no fret wear and only the lightest scuff on the back of the peghead from a clip-on tuner.  Adirondack spruce top, flamed maple back and sides, gloss merlot finish all over.  Wide 1 3/16" nut standard.  Ebony fingerboard with compound radius, figured ebony peghead overlay with flourish inlay and Collings logo.  Fully bound in ivoroid with bound sound hole and bound ebony pick guard.  Nickel tuners with ivoroid buttons.
