(USED) Not a heck of a lot to say here... if you're reading this, you probably already know! Waterloo captured our hearts very early on, when we were able to play the prototypes on the Collings Couch with an audience of one Bill Collings. It is a cherished memory, and even 8 years later, we feel exactly the same. Waterloo = fun, honest, dry, immediate. It is everything a guitar is supposed to be, and there is nothing superfluous on display. The WL-14 is the guitar that started it all.
This is *we think* the very first Waterloo that we sold, to a great friend and collector who didn't need more guitars, just wanted to be first in line. We pre-sold something like 25 WL-14s, before a production model ever hit our showroom, but this was the first. Our wonderful customer kept this WL-14 in tip-top shape, and there are really no signs of playing to report. No fret wear, no cracks or anything like that. This is #8, you guys. Talking single digits here!
Sitka spruce top, mahogany back/sides. Mahogany neck with original "big" Waterloo neck profile. Rosewood fingerboard, ebony nut, ebony bridge and pins. 1 3/4" nut width, 2 3/8" string spacing at the saddle, short scale. This one is X-braced and there is NO truss rod anywhere to be found. Look inside and all you'll see is fish glue squeeze out, as dictated to the builders by Mr. Collings himself. Stew Mac Golden Age tuners. Light as a feather. Includes original hard case.
Well, I guess we did have a few things to say after all!
