2013 Stiver Two-Point Mandolin, Adirondack Spruce, Maple - USED - SOLD

SOLD

ON CONSIGNMENT, NO TRADE OFFERS PLEASE!

(USED) Wake the children! Many of you have been waiting for a very long time for a day like this... we feel that a Stiver mandolin is not only one of the very best instruments you can buy, we also strongly believe that it is among the very nicest things you could ever hope to own!  Who needs boring old money when you have a STIVER mandolin??

Lou Stiver has been crafting his stellar mandolins since the '70s, recently celebrating his 50th year of luthiery!!  His instruments from the last decade have been some of his very best, but who are we kidding, they were always world-class mandolins with a great traditional bark and the throat-y tone that Loar Lovers, well, LOVE.  This 2013 two-point model has a label bearing the signature of our beloved mandolin teacher Charley Rappaport, and Charley puts each one of these through its paces before it comes available for sale.  It has an Adirondack spruce top, flame maple back and sides and a fully fretted, radiused ebony fingerboard.  The pale sunburst (“honeyburst”) is dreamy, and all the cosmetic flourishes (fully bound in ivoroid, abalone headstock flourish, gold hardware) just enhance this instrument's good looks.  The pick guard is faux tortoise, installed by Lou, as was the engraved James tailpiece.  The nut width is 1 1/8", right on the button.

Condition here is EX+ with nothing but minor pick swipes on the guard, no fret wear and no structural issues.  Includes original rectangle (TKL) hard case, or ask us about flight/travel case upgrades.

It’s an absolute prize!
