SOLD - (USED) Here we have a nicely played in Phoenix "Custom" two-point mandolin, built in 2012. If you know us, you know that we love everything Phoenix, and really miss the days when these were still in production.
Unlike the Jazz and Europa models, this Custom has a more traditional chop sound, plays wonderfully with standard mandolin strings (doesn't require the extra-light Tomastiks) and has formidable volume. It has a stiff Adirondack spruce top with maple back and sides. The pick guard, fingerboard, bridge and tailpiece cover are all dark ebony. Nut width is a wide 1 3/16".
Condition is very good, with some dinging on the top near the bass-side f hole. Very minimal fret wear. Includes fiberglass hard case.
A thing of beauty, getting more rare by the day! If it were up to us, every mandolin collection would contain a Phoenix.
