2012 Doug Unger Artist Mandolin, Varnish Finish, Spruce, Maple, Wide Nut - USED - SOLD

SOLD!

ON CONSIGNMENT, NO TRADE OFFERS PLEASE!

(USED, 2012) Just arrived, an Artist model from famed luthier and inlay master Doug Unger, built just about a decade ago in his Peninsula OH shop.  If you've been around fine stringed instruments like we have, you know that Mr. Unger's engraving work is second to none, and his banjos and mandolins are always a feast for the eyes.

This A-style has a spruce top and flamed maple back and sides.  It has a somewhat chunky vintage neck profile, with a "wide" nut measuring just under 1 3/16".  It is fully bound in ivoroid and has pearl/wood marquetry top and back borders.  The inlay work on the ebony fingerboard is dazzling, and the peghead has an elaborate flowerpot as well as a crown inlay.  Distinctive greenish-tinted tortoise peghead overlay and pick guard.  Floral cut outs on the tail piece.  Black varnish finish.

The condition is excellent, with no fret wear or structural issues.  Includes hard case.
