(USED) We continue to feel fortunate whenever a Walker guitar makes its way into our shop, and this year we have been blessed with another Ruby Elite!  This is Mr. Walker's interpretation of the J-185/small jumbo/mini jumbo shape, which is something of an underdog in the acoustic landscape, overshadowed by dreadnoughts and OMs... but we implore you, take a second look at this extremely versatile guitar design!  Having a big lower bout (like a dread) but a tight waist (like an OM) this shape does a great many things very well.  It also never hurts when it is interpreted by a master builder who served time in the Gibson custom shop and has had his hands on some of the best examples ever made.  

From 2009, this Ruby elite is a blonde beauty with a Sitka top and brilliant flamed maple back, sides and neck.  The natural good looks of maple are never wasted on us, and Walker knows how to pick a set of maple!  Being a mini jumbo, the guitar has a 16" lower bout and a body depth of about 4 3/4" at the tail block.  It's a "big" guitar that sits low in your lap, thanks the the tight waist.  The cosmetics are on point, fully bound in ivoroid with black/white/black accents, and Walker's signature shaded butt wedge and rear peghead.  Rosewood fingerboard with parallelogram inlays, rosewood "reverse belly" bridge with arc'd pin pattern to avoid splitting.  Ebony peghead overlay with pearl logo, gold Waverly tuners with ebony buttons.  The nut width is 1 3/4" and the string spacing at the saddle 2 3/16".  This is a short scale guitar, approximately 24 3/4".  

The condition is very good with a few dings on the top (most noticeably on the treble side of the upper bout) and mild fret wear under the unwound strings.  No cracks, deep scratches, nice easy playability.  Includes original hard case.
