2009 Collings OM1A Varnish, Adirondack Spruce, Mahogany, Torch - USED

ON CONSIGNMENT, NO TRADE OFFERS PLEASE!

(USED) If you're looking for an undeniably next-level mahogany OM, this beauty from Collings should check all the boxes!  An absolute powerhouse, this guitar has it all.  The Adirondack top looks and sounds stellar, and the varnish finish takes everything up a notch.  Varnish, not currently available as an option, used to be the (expensive) secret sauce for squeezing the utmost tone out of a Collings guitar.  Varnish is thinner and softer than lacquer, and allows the top to vibrate more readily, resulting in a warmer than average sound.

Long 25 1/2" scale length, with 1 23/32" nut width, 2 3/16" string spacing at the saddle.  Mahogany back, sides and mod V neck.  1-style appointments include b/w/b top purfling, 3-ring rosette and dot inlays on the fingerboard.  This one has been upgraded visually with full tortoise binding on the body, neck and peghead, set off nicely by crosscut ivoroid purfling.  The wonderful traditional torch inlay has been added to the headstock, which also sports nickel Waverly tuners.

Condition is excellent, with a few finish dings around the soundhole and near the edge on the bass side of the lower bout.  Light winder marks on the sides of the peghead.  Includes original hard case.
