2007 MJ Franks Legacy Dreadnought, Bear Claw Sitka, Brazilian Rosewood - USED - SOLD

ON CONSIGNMENT, NO TRADE OFFERS PLEASE!

(USED) Our friend Mike Franks makes some MIGHTY FINE guitars, and this 2007 Legacy has a phenomenal voice, especially when strummed.  It has a pretty aggressive looking bear claw Sitka spruce top and some well-chosen Brazilian rosewood on the back and sides.  The build style is pretty traditional, with forward-shifted and scalloped Adirondack spruce braces, thin maple bridge plate and ebony parts.  Cosmetics move away slightly from typical "28" style with b/w/b and cross-cut ivoroid top purfling, bound neck and peghead and abalone dot inlays.  The back has a marquetry style strip.

The nut measures 1 23/32" and the string spacing at the saddle is 2 3/16".  The mahogany neck has a modified V profile, not overly chunky or vintage inspired and measures .85" at the first fret and .928 at the ninth.  Tuners are Waverly open-gear.

There is a little bit of a dome behind the bridge, and the action is on the lower side of medium with plenty of saddle to work with.  Almost no fret wear.  No structural issues or cracks, a few very shallow dings in the top on the treble side of the upper bout.  There is a slightly strange phenomenon occurring in the finish, wherein the bracing pattern can be seen through the top, see pictures.  It appears much more emphasised in studio light than it does in person, and we believe it may be related to the gassing out from the adhesives in the case (not fully sure, but it certainly isn't hurting the sound!)

Includes hard case.
