2006 Collings CJ BaaaA SB, Adirondack Spruce, AAA Brazilian Rosewood, Sunburst - USED

ON CONSIGNMENT, NO TRADE OFFERS PLEASE!

(USED) Guitars like this simply don't come along every day.  This gorgeous Collings CJ is highly custom from top to bottom, featuring a tight-grained Adirondack spruce top, highly figured AAA-graded Brazilian rosewood, and the impeccable sunburst finish that Collings is known for.  There are several lovely cosmetic touches like head-to-toe ivoroid binding, abalone rosette for just a bit of bling, Collings' lovely Rose flourish on the peghead, marquetry back strip and engraved Waverly tuners.

This is a long scale guitar (think Advanced Jumbo instead of J-45) with 1 11/16" nut and 2 3/16" string spacing at the saddle, standard Collings C shape neck.  It has a dark ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlays, ebony bridge and ebony pins.

The sound is big and bold, one of the most confident and complex CJs that we've heard!  It has guts to spare and also the articulation that is Collings' tonal signature.

Condition is excellent with a couple light dings in the top on the bass side of the upper bout, one small scratch below the pick guard and some light swirling/wipe marks in the picking area.  The frets show very minimal wear under the unwound strings in the first position.  The original case has a fair bit of discoloration of the lining, which happened occasionally during this era of production.  Call to discuss upgrading to a later-model Collings branded case or a Calton flight case, both options usually available.

A jewel of a guitar, the likes of which we rarely see.  Collings has discontinued use of Brazilian for about a decade now, so we may never see one again!
