(USED) Rolfe Gerhardt designed some pretty amazing mandolins under the Phoenix banner, and one of the most distinctive is the Jazz model. It has a mellow yet articulate voicing that pairs perfectly with flat-wound strings and low action. The two-point design makes access to all frets (from all angles) a breeze, thereby making it one of the coolest instruments ever designed for jazz mandolin playing. On top of that, a combination of Armstrong magnetic and McIntire piezo pickups means that it shines just as brightly in the amplified realm as it does acoustically!
The top is European spruce, the back and sides are flamed maple. It has a dark sunburst finish, ebony pick guard and tailpiece cover, and ebony head plate with Phoenix bird inlay. Radius'd ebony fingerboard with offset pearl dot inlays. Ebony nut with 1 3/32" width.
No nicks, dings or scratches, condition is excellent and includes original hard case.
