(USED) We've always admired the beauty and consistency of Larrivée Guitars. Jean Larrivée is certainly one of Canada's most important luthiery exports, a legend who in turn trained many other legends. This cutaway dreadnought has an awful lot to recommend it, it's a looker for sure but it's also a sturdy build and the condition is excellent.
Bearclaw Sitka top, Indian rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck. The neck profile is a modern low oval, it measures just .777" at the first fret, .88" at the ninth. Long 25 5/8" scale length. The nut width is 1 23/32" and the string spacing at the saddle is 2 3/16".
Appointments include abalone top border and rosette, special fingerboard inlay on an ebony fingerboard, rosewood-bound body and plastic-bound neck, ivoroid heel cap and clear pick guard. Tuners are Larrivée branded Schaller closed-gear.
Condition is great with a few inoffensive dings on the top. There isn't a great deal of saddle showing, but the setup is low and fast and a taller one could be made without pushing the boundaries of "proper" action. There is an active under-saddle pickup system of unknown brand, but we tested it and it's working just fine. Very minimal fret wear under the unwound strings. Includes original hard case.
