(USED) A little piece of Huss History! This OM from our friends in Virginia dates all the way back to February 1999, but plainly shows that just a couple hundred guitars in, they were already on their way to becoming one of the world's top flat-top builders. You won't find any rough workmanship on this guitar, it is as clean and well-built as the instruments they're making today.
Sitka spruce top (faded to a golden brown color) with Indian rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck. It has an abalone rosette, tortoise body binding and a single b/w/b purfling line, clean and simple. The ebony fingerboard has their "sting ray" inlay pattern, and the peghead has a rosewood overlay with mother of pearl logo inlaid. 1 3/4" nut width, 2 1/4" string spacing at the saddle, long 25.4" scale. The neck has a comfortable mod V profile, and the tuners are closed-gear Schaller w/ ebony buttons.
Condition is very good, with just a handful of dings (bass side of lower bout, headstock edges) and just a bit of swirling on the pick guard. The frets are in great shape, showing only minor wear under the B string in the first position. Includes original hard case.
Serial #176 (1999)
