(USED) This Martin HD-28 is well into its fourth decade in service, and the vibe and condition are going to make it a serious find for a working musician. Versus D-28s from the last few decades, the HD-28 brings back the desirable forward-shifted, scalloped X-brace, key to finding robustness and power in the model. The smaller maple bridge plate also makes for a more responsive guitar.
Solid Sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides. Mahogany neck with comfortable modified "V" profile, 1 11/16" nut width and 2 1/8" string spacing at the saddle. Ebony fingerboard with dot inlays, ebony bridge with plastic pins. Classic 28 appointments include herringbone top purfling, plastic body binding, 3-ring rosette and diamond volute.
The setup is excellent, basically at Martin spec or a tiny bit lower, and there is nary a bit of fret wear. It's ready to go!! Given Martin's issues of late with neck angles and loose bindings, it's nice to see one that has been so solid from the jump. Includes hard case.
