1967 Martin D-28, Sitka Spruce, Brazilian Rosewood - USED

ON CONSIGNMENT, NO TRADE OFFERS PLEASE!

(USED) Here is a genuine Brazilian rosewood Martin D-28, back when those were still a thing!  1967 was the end of the thin maple bridge plate era, and we all know that the maple helped squeeze a little more tone out of these boxes.  Thankfully, this one still has one!  The spruce top would be Sitka by the late '60s, but we must admit that this is mighty fine Brazilian.  The back has a nice straight grain and the sides have some attractive spider web figuring.

The best news for the next owner of this guitar: it just had it's 60 year checkup last year and all pertinent issues with an aging Martin were addressed.  It had a neck reset, a re-fret, a pick guard crack repair and had new Waverly tuners installed.  So, while it has finish checking and play wear commensurate with its age, it is structurally in the best shape of its life (or at least this part of its life!)

1 11/16" nut, 2 3/16" string spacing at the saddle.  The neck is a modified V, not dainty but not overly thick at .906" at the first fret, 1.027" at the ninth.

Has the more focused sound of the non-scalloped dreads.  Includes molded hard case.
