1949 Martin 00-17, All Mahogany, Short Scale - USED

(USED) This post-war Martin has a lot of charm and just enough wear and tear to make it an attractive buy for non-collectors and working musicians.  The 00-17 is the next size down from the OM/000 shape, 14-frets to the body and with roughly the same upper to lower bout proportions as that model.  Being slightly smaller makes it a very comfortable shape.

All mahogany construction with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge.  Short 24.9" scale length, 1 11/16" nut and 2 3/16" string spacing at the saddle.  Mod V neck profile with a slightly vintage feel to it, measures .905" at the first fret, 1.034" at the ninth.

Condition is very good for a guitar approaching its 80th birthday!  Plenty of dings, pick wear on the lower side of the pick guard, and some finish worn off the back of the neck.  There is a repaired crack on the treble side of the lower bout, completely closed and seems stable.  We believe this guitar may have had a neck reset (some finish hazing around the fretboard extension, good action).  The frets may be later, though they are low they exhibit little wear.  Original bridge plate but with Plate Mate bridge patch.  Non-original Grover open gear tuners.  Modern flat-top hard case.
